Privacy policy
Kriterio is a browser extension that decides yes, not yet, or no on a page you choose, using rules you set. This page explains exactly what data it touches.
What stays in your browser
Your blueprints (rules), your decision history, overrides, glad / regret marks, values you type into fill-in boxes, cached decisions, and your license key are stored in your browser's extension storage. We do not receive or keep a copy.
What is sent to our server, and when
Only when you check a page (by clicking the Kriterio icon, the shortcut, or a site you enabled), the extension sends our server:
- the page URL, title, visible text and structured product data of that one tab;
- the blueprint being applied;
- for Pro users, up to ten of your past corrections for that same blueprint.
Our server forwards this to an AI model provider (currently Google's Gemini API, paid tier) to read field values and judge your soft rules, then returns the result. We do not store page content, blueprints, or verdicts. We do not log them. The provider processes the request under its API terms and does not use paid-tier API data to train models.
The extension never reads pages you have not chosen to check, never reads other tabs, and never clicks, buys, submits or messages anything.
What our server keeps
- A random install ID generated by the extension, with a weekly count of decisions (to enforce the free limit).
- A one-way hash of your IP address with a daily count, to stop abuse of the free tier. Raw IP addresses are not stored.
- For Pro: a one-way hash of your license key, the activation ID from our payment provider, and when it was last checked.
- Anonymous daily totals (for example, “412 decisions today”) with no identifiers.
Payments
Payments are handled by our merchant of record (Dodo Payments or Lemon Squeezy). We never see your card details. Their privacy policy applies to checkout.
Sharing
We do not sell or rent data, show ads, or use your data for anything other than producing the decision you asked for. We share data only with the AI provider and payment provider described above, or when required by law.
Your choices
Uninstalling the extension deletes everything stored in your browser. To have the usage counters tied to your install ID or license removed, email us with your license key or install ID (shown in the extension's Account tab).
